Good News, Fans of Boulevard BG!!!!!!

As of this morning, the Boulevard has NEW OWNERSHIP!!!!!!!

The new owner plans to keep the place pretty much the same with a few major exceptions--he wants to get a full liquor license, stay open later hours, and upgrade the interior to make it nicer!!! Also, he's going to add more TV's, and basically do things the way stuff should be done instead of the penny-pinching at the expense of quality and customer service!!!!

I like the burgers here. And its basically the only neighborhood bar in the FW/2222/Balcones area. But I never see young people (college) there. What am I missing?

I'm not sure there are many young people there, I'm old and over the hill, 35 in two weeks.

I can roll down the hill from my apartment and meet you there. I'm young, 21.

Back in the day we'd roll in there with like 20 people, thats why it was great, we could usually get a seat pretty quickly

I got to meet the new owner this week and he seems very cool. He's already added a new flat-screen TV and has plans for more to come, which is more than the former owner had done in years. Hell, the new guy bought me a beer the first time I met him, and that's the first time that any owner had done that in the 8-9 years that I've been going in there.

As far as the catfish goes, I agree completely, and I would not be surprised to see that happen pretty soon. The hand-breaded stuff was good, and that frozen Sysco crap is something I wouldn't feed to a dog.

They aren't getting rid of 2 for 1 burgers, and I talked to him about the catfish and he's looking into going back to the real thing instead of that other crap. They also brought in another flat screen yesterday and are getting digital cable installed right now. Full liquor license has been applied for, but when it will be available depends on the slug organization that is TABC. They also have new 23 oz. beer glasses, which is right up my alley!!!

I think we will need to have another HF Happy Hour there as a kind of grand opening once a lot of these changes are complete!!!

I had forgotten about the Volcano Queso! That and the sirloin queso were great--I'll have to talk to Jay about getting them back. Not like it's a lot of extra inventory or anything!
