Good mattresses for bad backs

I just bought one about a month ago. Looked at many, including the Tempurpedic. I had back surgery a few years ago, and it bothers me a lot on a bad matress. I have also been having hip trouble.

I got a Sealy Yates model. Had to buy new sheets too - but I LOVE THE MATTTRESS!!! I only bought one set of sheets, and they really don't fit right. But I will find a set that fits right.

The mattress is like sleeping on a giant marshmallow! It has a layer of the Tempurpedic stuff on top of a regular mattress. The nice thing about the Tempurpedic layer is that I find myself sleeping less on my stomach (which really hurts your back) and more on my back or side since you tend to move less on them. They are so soft, it is harder to move around.

I have yet to wake up with an aching back since we got it. I did wake up with a tense back one day - but that was the start of the last week of school - and I had not finished my lesson plans!

The mattress cost $$$$, but was worth it.

Lostman, it sounds like I got the same one (every store has different names, so you can't do a full on comparison). The Sealy with the thickest tempurpedic top and kashmere filling? We sent our first one back after about two months when the spot I sleep in became a giant sink hole. Now the second one is doing it. I'm not happy.
