Good luck to TCU

When the schedule came out last week I pretty much knew I wasnt going to see much if any of the games. It turned out I didnt get to see any of game 1 or 2 and only got to see bits and peices of game three because ESPN International was showing the OU-UVA game so I cant really comment on the series as a whole. What I did see was the exposure of what pretty much everyone knew was Texas' achilles heel, the bats.

TCU had the staff to stand toe to toe with the Texas arms and win a three game series if their bats just did a little more than ours. They made the clutch plays when they needed to and Texas just didnt. You have to tip your cap to them and say good luck in Omaha and make the state of Texas proud.

They only need one win to tie aggy for total wins in Omaha.

I agree with your sentiments, FW. TCU is capable of beating any team in the field and should represent the State of Texas well (except for Purke's cap wearing). This is shaping up as a dream seson for the Frogs: 1st trip ever to Omaha + they get payback on Texas eliminating them last year.

UT was the 1st Champion at Rosenblatt, it would be fitting to see another Texas school close it out. Good luck, Frogs!!

(btw: I thought aTm had 2 all-time CWS wins. I could be wrong.)

Amen to what you said. TCU had a great year, very strong on pitching and hitting. At least another team from Texas is going, it could have been worse, how about OU winning here in Austin or LSU winning here?

Agreed. Much bigger tragedy than losing to TCU is crap teams like Clemson and FSU making it to Omaha because they didn't have to beat anybody. I really think the only teams that had a chance in hell in beating us in a 3-game series were TCU, UCLA and AZ State. Alas, we run into one of them in Super Regionals, but so it goes. TCU's hitters, up and down the lineup, were simply better than Texas.

By the way, why wasn't Keyes batting cleanup in the 3rd game. he was the best hitter, with power, in our lineup all weekend.

I imagine Moldenhauer was hitting cleanup b/c of the lefty v. righty match up. He had a nice rip in the first inning. Curry just made a great play on that ball.

Living here in FtWorth I felt TCU should've been the 5 or 6 seed nationally. Still do. They got screwed by the committee but in the end we were screwed even worse. They deserve to go and I'm pulling for them to win it all. Other than against ArizSt, I like their chances...
