Good lord...

Im no baseball guru but i never understood why more players were not looking to launch a 3-0 pitch considering the pitcher is looking to put it over the plate.

The easiest pitches to hit (once the season gets rolling) are the first pitch and a 3-0 pitch. I'm unsure why either scenario seems to warrant "free strikes" for the pitcher. Some teams (Yankees and Red Sox) specifically state that they use as many pitches as possible to get pitch counts up, inevitably making the game last about 4 hours.

Baseball has so many dumb unwritten rules that appeal to the purists. It's half sport, half performance. Best to just let it continue its ways.

Baseball should try a few unwritten rules about things that matter. How about an unwritten rule about not taking steroids?
