Good/Honest Mechanic

I need a car mechanic. I have a 15 yr old jeep and a couple yr old Toyota. Anyone use one they trust for everything from routine maintenance to larger jobs? Ideally around central Austin, but not that important.

Firestone just rode me for about 1 grand on my jeep.

Also give Great Hills Shell a call 343-1690 located at 10940 Research Blvd. It's a small locally own service station with a full maintenance department that has a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty.

Anyone here go to Bearden? I hear they're very good with Toyota/Lexus and specifically land cruisers.... just curious if anyone has used them before.

I will echo here for Empire. They've often tightened a thing or two on my jeep, and when I've asked how much I owe, I've been told, "nothing, just remember us next time."

I've had good luck with Capitol Tire and Automotive on 6th street across from Hut's.

They just fixed my a/c (rebuilt the compressor) for $400, I was expecting it to be much more.

Had a full brake job done there for about $500 (new rotors and pads all around).
