I have 1 kid. he's 22.

My gf has an 8 year old girl. That's bad enough in terms of television programs we watch, no Stern in the car when she's with me, etc.

The GF's family is visiting with a 2 yo and a 4 yo.

Holy ****, they're driving me crazy. I'm ready to go get a prescription for medicinal marjuana. The BIL's a MD...I'm thinking about asking him for a RX for valium so I can deal with his kids.

Constant noise that never stops. Everything in the house knocked off shelves, broken, etc.

It's chaos. Two more days.

It's not so bad when we're out doing things. But at home I'm losing it.

Oh...and BTW. For the breast feeding advocates: when jr. is big enough to pull moms shirt down and bra off, it's time to quit breast feeding.

I hear you. My 25 year old son visited for the holidays with his gf and her kids of 5 and 6. The Mishtress and I are f'n worn out.

When you are knee deep in the ****, you don't notice it much. It's when you have been away and suddenly it's there, right in front of you that it becomes a shock to the system.

The noise level, chaos and destruction that surrounds me daily would have driven me bat **** insane 5 years ago. Wait.. i am bat **** insane, but they are my kids and I love them to death.

However, i do at times fantasize what a quiet, serene orderly homelife might be like, with expensive modern furniture with sharp edges.. Get back to me in 15 years.

Discipline is possible. My husband's nephew moved in with us and he was different with me than with anyone else. I also have a 140 lb. dog and he doesn't jump on people and he sits and lies down on command. He also knows what "move" means. Talk to them. Tell them you love them but that they can count on you not to let them get away with stupid stuff because you know that both you and they are smarter than that. It works.
