Good Eats on the way to San Antonio?

HH03 and I are going to the Spurs game tomorrow night in SA. I was wondering where the better restaurants are on the way. Either between Austin and SA, or in San Antonio. Preferably not too far from the SBC Center.

hmm. driving to SA from austin, you'll notice that, as the closer you get into SA, there are no grocery stores but an "all you can choose" variety of fast food joints.

Is this this Pat's Place in NB the same owners that used to run one between Schertz & Universal City in San Antonio? That was my parent's favorite place to eat when they lived in SA; I heard it had closed & was surprised -- maybe they just moved.

Yep, that was Pat's South. It never really caught on. The location off of 78 was not great.

Near the SBC center there are lots of good bbq places. On the way...

Grist Mill in Gruene (Green for you non-locals)
Gurke's but you better know where you are going (in the boonies in marion)
Rosario's if you have the time and are coming down 35. Heading more into SA, but man, I like the food.
