Good cheap apartments

A friend of mine wants me to move into Jefferson Center WAY up north. I can't see myself making the commute to work on Ben White.

I guess my question is has anyone here lived in a nice cheap apartment in southwest or central areas. We are looking for a 3 bedroom for about $1200-1600.

SW Austin you have some stuff on Brodie. There are some Apartments on Mopac that are worthy and in your price range, as well as a coulpe Trammel Crowe- Alexan apartments.
