Good Auto Shop?

Anyone know a good place to get transmission work done on a 99 Honda Civic? Somewhere in south Austin? I just don't want to go somewhere and get gouged.

It's not in south austin, but Gordon Automotive on Burnet road is very reliable and fair. They did a lot of work on my Mazda while I was in college.

I don't know of anyplace south, but I know a friend of mine who knows nothing about cars has been taking her 93 acura to Flamingo Auto near campus for years and has always really liked them.

Hope that helps

I'll second Gordon Automotive, they been on Burnett Rd for over 20 yrs. Reliable and trustworthy. Pricing, don't know, all car repairs are expensive!

Empire Automotive, next to the police station downtown. David is very honest and charges very reasonable rates. All of my friends take our cars to him.

I'd have to say Richmond Automotive. This is my second post so I may seem like an advocate but I'm just a very satisfied customer. My whole family and all my friends go there and he specializes in Honda/Toyo. If you don't have either you might listen to his assessment on the other vehicles, specifically Mazda which he says he works on all the time and wouldn't sell them to an enemy.
