Good Austin sandwich shop

My wife is from Columbus, OH and they have some great delis/sandwich shops there. Mostly mom and pop corner store kind of places. I've lived in Austin all my life and for the life of me, nothing comes to mind.

KD doesn't do it for her, due to a lack of bread choices. Any recommendations? Don't say Katz's or Manny Hatten's please. Kitchen Door doesn't even really cut it.

I'm thinking of places like NeWorlDeli.

If you like cheesesteaks, go to Jersey Mike's. They have a couple of locations in Austin. Their other subs are good, too.

Hog Island Deli on lavaca (around 12th i think).

it is outstanding--particularly the italian tuna sub, which is possibly the best tuna sandwich i've had.

Lucretia is probably my favorite proprieter in Austin. Little Deli is awesome.

Gotta love Lucretia/Little Deli. She talks to every customer and if you go a couple of times she will know your name and usually your sandwich too.
