Good Ankle Doctor?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good ankle doctor, ortho or podiatrist? I seem to have bruised something pretty good in my left ankle, and would really like to know how bad it is before I ski on it for three days

. My ortho referred me to their ankle doctor, but he's proving hard to reach. Thanks for any help!

I go to Dr. Mark McDonnel with Hill Country Sports Medicine. His office is off of 1826, which is probably the wrong side of town for you...

Dr. Christopher Chenault. He's partners with Jerry Julian, the former UT orthopod. He did the surgery and reconstruction on my left ankle several years ago, and I literally have not had a problem with it in ten years.

Got in to see Dr Andreau at Medical Park Orthopedics. Took some xrays, said that I pronate a little, and was putting too much stress on the outer-ankle tendons. Gave me excersizes, told me to get inserts for arch support, and said that I should probably stop running until it stops hurting

.

Also, was interesting to note that I have ~3-4 bone spurs at various parts in my ankle. The doctor actually exclaimed "wow" after I told him I was only 26

. I messed up the ankle pretty good playing intramural basketball and football, and never saw anyone about it. He said that until they bother me I shouldn't worry about them, but I sense a large orthopedics bill in my future.

Oh = thanks for all the suggestions - if my 2nd referral hadn't called me right back, I'd have been on the phone with a few of the noted docs. I appreciate it!
