Gooch to AC MILAN!!

Wow!

I'm a little torn, because I hate Milan (AC that is), yet they got rid of the diving little Kaka, so maybe I can learn to like them. But I'm a bit of an Inter fan right now (not huge, ) in part because they are the team of my Italian friend and they've got Argentine representation... including their captain.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOCH!

Didn't Landon play for Bayern Munich this past year? I would consider them to be on at least the same level if not one above (given the prolific corruption of that team and league in Italy over time) than AC Milan.

I like soccer, therefore, I don't watch Serie A but good for Gooch if, like others have said, he gets on the field and develops further. Also, hopefully he will not take bribes and throw games.

Donovan was with Bayern Munich during the Galaxy off season for a few weeks. The way I understand it is that while he performed well, he was not offered a contract at the end of his two week(give or take) trial....basically, I wouldnt place that on the same level as Gooch's 3year deal.

You are right. I thought it was longer. A major reason he got the chance to go there was Klinsmann who is a fan of Donovan and his skills. When he was not there any longer I think that sealed Landon's fate too.

Donovan's "Two Week Trial" was closer to TWO MONTHS.

From the time he started training with them before the ~4 or 5 scrimmages (where he scored ~4 goals) until after the 4 or 5 games that he was on the active roster for was AT LEAST all of January and February.

However, Donovan has about a $10million buy out tag from the MLS because his current contract runs through the end of this year and the league holds the option on 2010 and 2011.

You can't compare Gooch's situation to Donovan's at Bayern.

And LOOP- I found it odd that you took the opportunity during a Gooch thread to bag on Serie A. Who would have seen that coming?
