Golf Lessons

Anyone have any recommendations on golf pros in SW Austin? After a nine year layoff from golf, I think now would be a good time to reconstruct my swing.

I am looking for someone who can teach me to "clear my hips" and hit down and through the ball. I have always been a "sweeper" of the ball and that does not play to well in the central Texas wind.

Any suggestions will be helpful.

I could use some gold lessons also, but believe gold could be putting in a top. Maybe short gold.

Chris deKeratry is very good. He used to be the head pro at the Oak Hill Range (and Forest Creek in RR), but now has a new position somewhere else in town. I haven't spoke to him in a year. (512) 791-0558 (m)

He was the first pro in 20 years of taking lessons to discover that my clubs needed to be longer than a standard set. It has made a big difference. Good luck.

Check out Dave Baron at the First Tee. I believe he was the pro at Onion Creek before becoming director of instruction there. He's a fantabulous instructor. firstteeaustin.org
