Golf in Wimberly/SanMarcos/South Austin area?

We will be in Wimberley for a long weekend in a couple of weeks and are looking to get in a round of golf on Friday morning, April 26th in the area. I am aware of the Wood Creek courses in Wimberley but know little about them. I have also played Circle C (very good course but a bit pricey) and Roy Kizer (good course, great value) in South Austin.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

hh

My foursome played Plum Creek a lot until they went up on their prices...fifty bucks for a weekend round was a little steep when better courses are available for the price. Try the Bandit in New Braunfels. It's a better course and was about $45 this last February.

Are you sure about the Bandit, GC? I thought it was around 70-80. I haven't played there in a couple of years, though.

Thanks for the touts, guys. It seems there will be a Central Texas Golf event going on that weekend in Wimberley, San Marcos and thereabouts that includes Plum Creek.

Looks like we will either play Bandit or Kizer.

Fairways and Greens,

Golfq.com had a running coupon for about the last year there. I think it was $40 + tax for green fee, 1/2 cart, and a bucket of range balls. We quit using the coupon when we found out it was normally $40 and all you got from Golfq was the bucket of balls. I haven't played there since Feb, but I can't see them going up that much in a couple of months.

It looks like everyone else quit using the coupons or Soheil went way up on the Golfq.com prices...the Bandit and Plum Creek are no longer on the list of Austin courses that advertise on Golfq.
