Golf in Wimberley/San Marcos/South Austin area?

We will be in Wimberley for a long weekend in a couple of weeks and are looking to get in a round of golf on Friday morning, April 26th in the area. I am aware of the Wood Creek courses in Wimberley but know little about them. I have also played Circle C (very good course but a bit pricey) and Roy Kizer (good course, great value) in South Austin.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Still one of my favorites is Riverside golf course. Used to be "Austin Country Club". Good course for the money.
The one in Buda is not bad either, just can't remember the name.

I've played Wood Creek quite a few times and it's not impressive, especially for the money. I think it's around $50...you'd be better off at Circle C.

The course is Buda is rather new, but when I played it 18 months ago, it's seemed to have great potential. It's the best value for a short drive from Wimbereley (about 25 minutes). It's called Plub Creek.

You can also go play a country club on the east side of San Marcos...quail creek I believe, but it's not better than Plub Creek. I've heard great things about The Bandit as well, but never been there.

A couple of the north San Antonio courses are no that far as well (about 45 minutes), but by then, you might as well go to Circle C.

I hope this helps.

If you play plum creek, watch out for the snakes.

if you play quial creek, pray that all the holes are there and they aren't doing construction/repair on the course. I've never played there when the course was in decent shape.
