Going to Xavier-Florida tomorrow...

My girfriend is a Xavier fan, which pretty much makes me a Xavier fan too. Anyone ever been to Gainesville? Any thoughts on where to go for some pre/post-game beverages?

Maybe it will do the Horns some good for me to miss the game tomorrow. Certainly can't hurt...

Miller's Ale House

It's a chain sports bar in Florida (and along the east coast) but it has decent specials and tons of tvs. The burgers aren't bad either.

Oh, there are a **** ton of bars off of University Ave too. Stubbie's is pretty popular.

But as is the case in any SEC town, please tell me you took off the Xavier gear before entering the bars.

We didn't have any problems actually-- the Florida fans were a lot nicer than the ones I encountered in Storrs last month.

The O'Connell Center was cool-- it holds about 12,000 and there's not a bad seat in the place. It smelled like chlorine though, and that's because their swimming facility is in the same building! Weird.

I stiill hate Florida though, and I enjoyed watching them get their butts kicked on their home floor.
