Going rate for dog sitting?

What should I expect to pay per day/week for someone to keep my dog in their home? I will provide a kennel, should they need it, and his food, favorite toys, etc.

Just a complete guess here. I'm going to say for a weekend, $50. If you know the care taker well, then you might get away with $35-$40. It really depends on how much of an inconvenience this dog is going to cause the care taker and how well you know this person. For a week, I'd say $65-$80.

This totally depends on who you use and where you found them. I've always had good luck finding good dog walkers/sitters on craigslist, and it is way cheaper than using a service. Right now, I pay a law student $30 a week to walk my dog at midday every day (5 days/week). For overnights (sometimes she stays at my house, sometimes takes the dog to hers), I pay her $25 a night, but this usually includes checking in on the cats, scooping litter, etc.
Most kennels and services charge a lot more, especially for in-home care.

We pay the girl next door $20 a day to take care of our dogs and guinea pigs when we're out of town. If we're gone an unusually long amount of time we'll bring her back a gift as a bonus.
