God and Obama

Now I hear the losers on FauxNews saying that the hurricane cost Romney the election. What you will not hear them say is this: that if Sandy cost Romney the election, and a hurricane is an act of God, then, ergo, God must have wanted Obama to win the election!

Hallelujah!!!
Amen!!!

haha...my dad actually told on Sunday that God was a democrat and sent Sandy to the east coast as a way to tell republicans that big government was the way to go. He was trying to be funny but he did feel that it would sway some voters toward Obama.

I think those suffering without electricity, food or water would find your posts offensive - if they had a way to access it.

FEMA is failing across the board there. No good quotes from the President complimenting the FEMA Director, but great pictures of him hugging Christie before jetting off to Vegas.

The airports are open and the highways are clear. Send in gas trucks, water/food supplies and medical care. Just make sure they are Union approved.

Where is BO's trained force?
Remember he said he wanted a force to equal our military
The first class of FEMA Corps finished training in Sept. They are trained to aid in natural disaters
We spent millions training and paying them
wouldn't you think MSM would have done stories on them if they are actually doing what we are paying them to do?

where are they?
anyone?
anyone?

btw Dal
Fox news was reporting on an exit poll question where 40% of people said Sandy affected their vote.
By your logic God was willing to kill people and destroy billions of dollars in homes . keep over a million without power as temperatures drop just so BOcould win?
that is kinda sick

According to Pat Roberston and his right wing pals, God had no troulble doing it to New Orleans to punish it for its wicked ways. Who am I to question God?

dal
quit flopping around
first you try to say God send Sandy so Bo could get reelected
now it looks like you are saying God is punishing the people in NY and NJ

so which is it?

Boy, this is a slippery slope. I have no idea whether God would use a hurricane to affect a U.S. presidential election ... but I'll play along. First, there is some Biblical precedent for God using meteorological events to shape national opinion and politics (think Moses, Pharoah, and the plague of hail). Second, there is a lot of Biblical precedent for God caring who is selected as a country's chief executive (think David, Solomon, etc).

So, playing along, would God want to sway voters toward Obama, who professes to be a Christian, but doesn't regularly attend church or engage in many of the other common practices of Christians OR would he want to sway voters toward Romney, who denies that the Bible is the fully revealed plan of God (i.e., without the Book of Mormon) and practices an American-spawned religion?

I'm not taking the bait on that one; I'm just playing along.

I suspect that the Divine might want to thwart anyone doltish enough to be taken in by a fraud and charlatan like Joseph Smith, so we probably can’t rule out some meteorological antics in favor of the incumbent.

stop being your typically idoit self, 6721.

apparently dal's sarcasm went over your juvenile level of understanding.

And I heard every single MSM outlet say at some point that Romney's momentum was stalled by the storm, that it was an advantage to the president, that it allowed him to "look presidential", and in fact Chris Matthews said he glad that the storm happened. So I'm confused how Fox was out of line opining that the storm had an impact on voters when the popular vote to that point had showed dead even or Romney with a slight lead.

As to the attempt to introduce theology into the discussion, the point is so disjointed that I can't even address it. Not really sure why Pat Robertson's opinion on a storm several years ago should have any relationship to how a news network would cover a story today.

I guess I must be. Has Fox News been claiming that all hurricanes (or any) are acts of God meant to punish the unrighteous? And if they do believe that, wouldn't they be out claiming that Sandy was about punishing the East Coast? You seem - like Michael Moore and Chris Matthews - to think that the most important outcome of the storm was that Obama won, which begs the question: do you agree with them that the damage done to those people on the East Coast was an acceptable price to get an Obama win? (Assuming that's why he won, of course, and I don't necessarily agree with that.)

See, you are sort of throwing the Transitive Property up on the rack and torturing it for the purposes of doing your little football spike post, and it's really sort of a reach.

I have a strong faith and I do not believe God is a democrat or a republican. I also respect anyone's right to follow whatever faith they want or do not want to follow. I do find it to be offensive when a person watches TV and then systematically discriminates against Christians.

I am still looking for someone who supports Obama to praise his handling of Sandy. People are suffering and jackasses on this board are making fun of God, the situation and other human beings right to religion.

What do you guys think is the bigger sin in Christian theology?

A. The person who stands up for the legal rights of Gays to be recognized by the government as a loving union (You may want to note Jesus' reaction to the legal action of stoning adulteress in his day)
B. The person who denies God and Jesus are one in the same.
C. The person who claims the Bible is not the final word of God.
