Now that we are past game one we have to concentrate on Game 2. Remember UTEP is tough at home. I know that lost bad last week but that makes the risk higher. They will be at home this time with much more determination and effort. Remember they almost beat Texas Tech there once. We have to be very careful and work to be focused. Remember when we got beat bad by Oklahoma in 2003 65 to 13 and AP made the unwise decision to not come here and worse yet went to OK because he had not the vision that UT and VY were tohave. The next week we came back determined and beat Iowa State 40 - 19. So we must be ready.
UTEP is from a rugged area with independent people that have pride and courage. I know because I went to a conference about 2 years ago to El Paso and we went to Juarez where I fought the brave bull in the bullring.
We must be careful and start encourageing our team. Those in Austin continue your good work as assigned. This is a game we must win and we must be careful. The conditions unlike the Sun Bowl when we played there are now going to be hostile.
But don't become discouraged. With proper focusness we can be ready. We can win this game.
