It starts this week. We must be confident but at the same time calm, cool, collected, careful and cautious. Remember Florida Atlantic is a dangerous team with confidence. We have to remember their Coach (who has had success at Miami) has been talking it up with confidence. The main thing is we must start to work to maintain our focussness.
Remember we have just got over the Olympics and we have the Democratic Convention this week so we must help the team avoid distractions.
Those of you in Austin that can be sure to go to the game and cheer loud for our team. Take advantage of the additions and make this a noisy stadium to give us a real home advantage. Start doing the Hook 'em Horns symbol now and especially when you see any of our football players or any UT athlete. I will start driving around town with my Horns flag to help with the synergy;. We can do it but we must stay focussed. It starts this Saturday!
All Longhorns and Horns fans rally to the cause! We can win!

I've got about as much focusness as you can have on a Monday morning...but I expect it to get better as the week wears on.

You know we are in full swing and ramp up for the season when Bill gets us focussed.

Can't wait...just hope I can watch the game somehow/somewhere in Cocoa Beach.

I'm in the same boat, Diver.

I'll be in Wilmington, NC with no chance at watching the game. I will be checking my phone about every second though.

I hope this season goes as well as I think it might.

And if it doesn't, at least let Thanksgiving be a glorious day.

OT question. I graduated in December last season, and moved to New York City for work. This is my first season in years away from Austin, TX. Does anyone have any idea how I can find these games to watch on tv? Do they come on ppv or some kind of package? The only two I've found scheduled here are OU & aTm. I can't miss 10 games this year. I'll cry.
 
Yeah, I think that's what I'll have to do in the end.

I rue talking to Time Warner on the phone, so I was hoping someone would know of a package that carried Texas games. Sigh, I guess it's the only way.
 
I was down in Rockprot last weekend, and dorve through Sinton. Didn't stop or anything though...

I went and reconned my tailgate spot last Friday. This will allow me to acclimate myself immediately Saturday morning, thereby allowing me to channel all of my energies on focussness. And beer.
 
Like the first robin in spring, like the first gust of north wind in November, Bill in Sinton, with focussness intact, rings in the hornfans football season with his first peptalk of the season!!

I must admit, it put a tear in my eye.

My focusness is now fully here. Go horns, fight! Win!
 
OP was dead on. I am in total agreement. I have nightmares about this week. The coaches are trying to hold a practice and half the kids are talking about beach volleyball and the rest are worried about how the Dems will handle their rollcall.
