Correction Arbfarkle. If I understand the tourney tie-breaking rules correctly, all the 'Horns have to do is win out and have Mizzou lose to either Aggy or Sand Aggy, thereby creating at least a 3-way tie. Under that scenario, the highest seed (i.e., the 'Horns) advances. So, although it would be helpful for Mizzou to lose tomorrow, no one has to go against their conscience and pull for Aggy.
Danno
There are only 16 ways left for this to turn out.
Tech could still get there by winning out and having Texas beat the Ags. That would mean that Tech and Missouri had two wins apiece and tie breaker Tech.
Texas has two shots at it. They win out and Tech AND Aggy beat Missouri giving a two way tie between Texas and Ags advantage Texas.
The second way Texas gets in is for Missouri to beat Tech and Ags to beat Missouri creating a 3 way tie in that case the tie breaker goes in to effect and Texas goes.
Sure wish we could opt out of this damned tournament. Since we can't, let's whip damn aggy and damn tceh and then get the hell back to HOME to host the Regional.
Nothing about today's game -- 'cause I couldn't care less about the B12 Tourney -- but I'm getting that sick twisty feeling in my gut that something terrible if going to happen and we end the season like that miserable 3-year nightmare from 06-08. Somebody talk me off the ledge.
You're scenarios are correct Arbfarkle. I had a brain cramp. I guess we HAVE to root against Mizzou tonight (dang it) if the 'Horns are to play for the Big 12 title. My bad.
Based on what happened today. I think I will root for Missouri tonight.
That way all three teams will stay in contention. If the Ags win they go. IF Missouri wins, If Tech beats them and Texas handles A.M. then Tech can play in the big un. If they win that I assume they get to the NCAA's. Aggy is apparently already in from the projections I've seen.
Go Tigers.
Oh the AGS are going alright......straight to the championship game.
I don't think this is the end of the world, but come on.....Missouri and Tech are two of the worst teams!!!! We should be able to handle them without our best pitchers!
Take a deep breath TEXAS.....this is eerily similar to the softball team's performance in the Big 12 tourney and then we are know what happened in the regional we hosted.
