I am having trouble setting up my gmail account through this program. I set it all up and it goes to "get folders for my imap" and it tells me that

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.

Your IMAP command could not be sent to the server, due to non-network errors. This could, for example, indicate a lack of memory on your system.

I read on the windows help message that alot of people had this problem, none specific to gmail tho, they said to turn off password authetication and email virus protection. Anyone else running gmail on Vista Windows Mail?

I found it much easier to forward all gmail messages to another email account and map that account. Of course that depends on if you have another email account that maps easier than google (ie: hotmail).

Yeah, I did use the gmail instructions and it lead me to the problem. I need to IMAP for my iPhone as well. Surely there is someone that runs Vista and has gmail on their iPhone

JC, I use it through my iPhone, and have had zero problems. I just followed the iPhone instructions from the gmail site and everything worked fine. On the PC, I use it through Outlook 2007 with XP ... so I guess that doesn't apply to your problem. Good luck.
