GM Employee Pricing

I am thinking about buying a new Tahoe and GM is offering their Employee Pricing until Sept. 2nd. They are also offering 5,000 in rebate making the sticker price some down about 10K. Is this a good time to buy or should I wait till the end of the year? Is the Employee Pricing as good as it gets? I doubt I will get jack for my Tahoe on trade though.

Just had a buddy get a brand new Tahoe for $36K (list price was $49,500). I bought my Yukon during employee pricing (before the gas scare caused prices to go way down). At the time, employee pricing was the best deal I had seen in years. Not sure how it is now that they are basically giving these SUVs away.

there's a dealer in plano starting off at 10k off 2008 tahoes. ray huffines. sure you could get in there and negotiate it down more, seeing as they're not selling many of them and they probably have a ton of 08's on the lot. great deals will be had by many!

Depends on what type of Tahoe you want. I put 3 clients in Tahoes ranging from 28k-31k this month. Employee pricing is the tip of the iceberg for negotiations.

Agree on the CarMax angle. I took my car to Carmax and got a quote and the dealer matched the quote (it was $3k higher then the dealer's offer). Made it much easier to just handle on the spot and get it all done with.

I have a good family friend that is the Sales Manager, so even if I am getting raked over the coals I don't think I am. I switched from a Tahoe to a pickup now as well. Hope to pick one out in the morning.

Let us know how it works out. I've been thinking about getting a new Tahoe or Silverado for about the last three years, and I may finally go for it-if the price is right.

is employee pricing actually below invoice? I have been buying my trucks from covert in bastrop for 10 years at 300-500 under invoice...plus rebates....how does the employee pricing compare?

I ended up with a 1500 Silverado Crew Cab. It is the Texas Edition that includes the 20 inch wheels, LTZ convenience package, locking tailgate, hauling management system, etc. I payed 24K for it and the sticker was over 33K.

I am not for sure if I could have got a better deal elsewhere, but it was the easiest car buying I have ever had. I spent less than 20 minutes signing papers and was out the door at the dealership.

Beef.....you didn't mention 4x4.....I've been wanting a truck for some time for only part time use and can't see dropping the change on it but for this price I'm thinking about it.....what else did you get on your truck?.... Engine size, leather?, DVD? etc.

I have an invoice on my desk for a loaded out LTZ 2wd 1500 crew cab silverado...the invoice says 38036 and he is giving me GMS price of 36182 +150 - 5000K in rebates for a total of 31,332 + TTL

This includes 20's, nav, rear dvd...hard loaded...

is that about as good a deal there is right now?

V4H - Isn't Employee Pricing + 5K rebate just the regular price? It seems that you could bring the price down a lot more than that.

Well usually I buy for 500 under invoice....well that kind of goes out the window with the gms pricing since it starts out below that.....i thought that dealers paid invoice minus holdback.....how is their any hold back at this price and how much money am I lleaving on the table with this deal?

And how come I can get a loaded out F150 like this for like 28K?

To be honest I really like the GMC's the best

There is a dealership in Hutto, TX with a 'New Vehicle Special' posted for an LTZ msrp $37k+, on sale for $28k. Try to find other sites like this to get a better idea of what discounts various places are advertising. Some may be 'loss leaders' but I have yet to meet a dealership that won't match price on comparable vehicle.

Don't know the rules for posting links to distinct dealerships so I'll refrain. And, I'm not endorsing said dealership...only pointing out an example.

different dealerships get manufacture to dealer rebates- which can be passed on to you. it could be 2k or more in savings. problem is the sales guys are trying to stick to there its GM pricing it doesnt get any better than this speak, its bs and good deals are out there to be had.

Call this guy...he is a car locator. The catch, he finds you the best price, you buy the extended warranty thru him. Might not be the best deal out there, but at least you'll have an idea of ballpark...thank me later. Here is his information:

And, 28K wouldn't be a great deal for an F150 decked out. I was looking at the Lariat version, leather, running boards, backup camera, etc...minus Navigation and the SALES guy offered 24K. I hadn't even begun my negotiations.
