...I'm sick of scott already. Hes a five star, so what, hes not the first or the last, its all relative to talent at the position, a year...He's not the second coming of Ricky... let it go, we'll land someone big..Whaley? Maybe, but for recruits checking hornfans, heres the love....

In a year, Chris Whaley will make everyone forget about the kid from California that went to CU.

Scarborough believes Whaley is the best back to come out of Texas since Peterson ?

I guess he hasn't given Rivals sufficient access to get the 5 star treatment yet?

That video of Whaley must be of his sophomore season (added in May 2007), which makes it all the more impressive.

Is Whaley considered much of a bruiser/ power back? He is definitely fast, but the first half of that video is just him bursting through a big hole and outrunning the defense into the end zone. He does show good vision.

Probably, my favorite run in that video is around the 2:30 mark, where he just explodes through a couple of defenders. I suspect he is a power back based on the strength he showed in this run and a couple of others, but the person putting together the video focused more on the long breakaway runs where he was mostly untouched (just plain faster than everyone else on the field).

I'm no expert, but Whaley seems like the one RB in the state next year that the Horns really don't want to miss on.

He's Eddie-George-esque. Huge, but maintains a low center of gravity. We would have to play around with the Greg Davis calls a lot if we picked him up, because we'd be hard pressed to find anyone on past rosters that play like Whaley.

Maybe Earl, but that was a different era.

from his viedo:
very big guy. seems like he is playing 5A and others are 3A. seems fast for his size. very good vision. switches the ball to his outside hand very well (sign of good coaching). i think he does run a bit upright but many people bounce off of him. very very good player. surprising that he only had 8.1 yards a carry.
