Ghostland Observatory

I thought about it and saw the $40 price and backed off; I've seen them 2-3 times and I think the prices used to be in the $15 range. Guess they've gotten to that point where there won't be any more "small" shows. either way, it's always a good time. I think you get a free cd w/ the ticket, so if you haven't seen them, heck yeah go, pay $50+.

i have a prior commit, but I would be at this show in a heartbeat if I could

the amount of *** to look at is itself worth the price of admission

I was so happy when the DJ finally stopped!

unpainted, they had 20-30 members of the UT band (drums & horns) come play during one of the songs off their new album. It was sick!

That was one of the best concerts in Austin ever. Ghostland Observatory is the best! The energy in the crowd was overwhelming, constant and contagious. Then they top it all off by bringing out the UT Basketball band on stage with them in the middle of one of their new songs. They all got into place quietly and then piece by piece they started integrating seamlessly into the song. The crowd went wild with hook 'em horns going up everywhere. After the song I started a TEXAS FIGHT and the crowd actually responded and excitement in the crowd picked up and peaked again once they heard it. It was unbelievable! I wish someone had a video of the end of the song. Steve Perry's video just missed it...

I talked with one of the band members afterwards. He said they told them they were playing, but they had to keep it a secret. He said there were about 25 of them. What a great experience for those guys. They got a lot of love from the crowd.

Always a great show, I've never seen them without leaving with a huge smile on my face. Unfortunately their studio work is still lacking, even with the new production they used for Robotique. They should probably just go Daft Punk and release some kickass live albums.

BDOG, could you elaborate on the studio work still lacking. I'm no music buff, but I do like rocking out. I was just interested in your take. The seat of the pants impression of the live show and the album passed my uneducated taste.

What a great video clip!

Does anyone know the name of the song with the UT Band performing?
