Ghost Hunting

It's almost Halloween, the moon is a burnt orange ball, and the football team has gone to shiite, so..... I confess.....I like to watch all those ghost hunting "reality" shows: Ghost Hunters, Paranormal State, Ghost Adventures, etc. And I must not be the only one because those shows are multiplying like rabbits.

Nine out of ten of those shows never find anything that I'd consider paranormal, and please, 99.9% of those EVP findings are crap. Still, ever now and then, you see something that makes you go "hummmm".

Ghost Hunters once filmed a chair sliding across a room all by itself, right after the team left the room. Zack on Ghost Adventures filmed a brick levitate and shoot across the room. Assuming those events weren't faked, they were impressive.

I've never seen a ghost or had an experience I'd call paranormal, but I think we all want to believe because it points to some kind of existence after death.

How 'bout it folks, anybody done any ghost hunting or have any experiences or what's the most impressive "paranormal" thing you've seen on TV?

Honestly, those ghost shows are crap. 100% of it is staged. The unexplainable stuff is all faked, otherwise there would be no need to film a television show about it.

I knew a PA from Austin who worked on "MTV Fear" for those two seasons it was on, and everything from the sounds in the building to shifting moving objects were planted by producers beforehand. I guess TLC/Discovery and whoever else are more reputable, but haunted stuff is just BS.

A supernatural realm comprised of angels and demons does exist, but I don't think those shows capture them. I don't trust any show to not add its own drama.

I don't believe there are ghosts, or even angels. I used to believe in angels, but 27 years after my parents' deaths, they still haven't come to me, so I don't believe anymore.

I kept waiting and waiting. I always thought my mother would have come to talk to me. But she didn't. So I stopped believing.

Those shows are all a bunch of hooey.

That's interesting Texanne. You know Houdini told his wife that if there was any way to come back, he would. They agreed upon a secret phrase ("Rosabelle believe") that only the two of them knew that would be proof that it was him. She held seances every Halloween for years after his death, but he never came back.

Count me in with Texanne.

Don't believe in ghosts, demons, or angels, or whatever.

My ex-brother-in-law is an actual "ghost hunter" in Chicago, and runs one of those "Weird Tours" in Chicago where they go to different "haunted" places, and whatnot. He has also been interviewed on a few of those "documentary" shows on TLC/Discovery/A&E about various "haunted" locales and/or serial killers.

I've never told him that I think all that **** is fake, but he claims to be psychic, so he should already know...

I think those shows do plant stuff otherwise there would be alot of episodes where nothing ever happened.

I will say that I do believe in angels, ghosts, demons, entities, etc...have had my own personal experiences. It is hard to believe in any of it if you have not experienced it first hand.

I do believe that there are those out there who take advantage of people's grief or gullability and are complete fakes but there are also those who really are gifted.

I sure as hell wish one of those 'gifted' people would predict that we win the rest of the season!
