Getting rid of previous web addresses in input bar

Problem with both Firefox and Google for some reason. I know it probably easy but I can't get rid of previously visited sites in the address bar. They seem to stick around forever too. I tried deleting cookies and history and all that good stuff.

I just want to do it incase a guest is using my computer and looking something up in Google like "architecturl' hustling" and the damned browser wants to input the previous nights "asian anal adventures" query. It could be embarrassing.

Tools-Internet Options-Content-Personal Information-Auto Complete

Make the appropriate selection and that should do the trick.

Bottom Line - That will only clear out IE, not Firefox.

BOO - In Firefox, I went to Tools/Options/Privacy...then hit Clear All just above the Cancel button, and it cleared out what I had in the address bar. If you meant the Google search that's part of Firefox, I believe the above will clear it also, or just right-click on the Goggle icon and you'll see a Clear Search History option listed at the bottom.

You may want to get Crap Cleaner: The Link
It works great on cleaning out everything you don't need on your PC in one shot, including all your Firefox and Goggle Toolbar 'crap'. Freebie, of course.

to clear the google box history in firefox
--clear out the google box
--hit your down arrow till your on the offending item
--hit shift and delete at the same time, hold them both down to ckear out the whole thing.

In Mozilla (I have Mozilla, not Firefox, so I'm not sure if it's the same) there's a setting under Edit/Preferences, select the Navigator section, then History under that.

You can set the nuber of days History remembers stuff and can also empty the history and Location Bar listings.

If he were really being honest he would say he needs to remove the "chickswithdicks.com" web address instead of the "asian cover story" ...
