Getting rid of items around the house

Is there an alternative to just putting everything in the trash? I'm talking about broken toys, old shoes, old pots and pans..

These are items that are not usable any more.

Put it on Craigslist for free. People will come pick up your junk for you.

Anything you can recycle? Like the pots & pans?

Toys and other stuff could go to Craigslist or Goodwill or Salvation Army.

Goodwill and Salvation Army are a little pickier these days. Don't expect that they are willing to take broken things.
