Get this punk off our field. He has no relation to our University. As a former player I resent his presence.
 
i would hope someone representing our school and our players (you) would fact check a statement before derisively using it.
 
That guy has been following this team alot longer than some of our fans.

I can remember him during year 1 of Mack Brown - the guy came to Scholz's after the game. He has earned my respect as a fan - he was not a bandwagon fan. Few other longhorn celebs support the football team.

so let him be a fan, his degree says hes as much as, or more of, a fan, than half the stadium
 
I have heard he went for one year and that he graduated. Neither prevents or makes him more qualified to be a fan. But did he graduate?

I don't believe he graduated. If memory serves, he spent about two year at UT, before he was cast in 'Dazed and Confused'...then his acting career was off to the races.

He is one of our most rabid, high profile fans...which I admire.

Also, don't criticize fans for not being alumni...it is terribly aggy.

Anybody that buys a ticket, a hat or *gasp* a shirt has relation to the University. If any school relied on just their alum, they would flounder. Take away the concession sales, merchandise sales and tickets bought by non-alum at DKR-TMS-ABCDEFG and you don't have a new stadium, you don't have have the nice facilities and prob. not Mack Brown or the current quality of players.

The University is not the POTUS. The more that have relations with it, the better.

He happens to be the most distinguished bongo player The University has ever produced. He has earned his sideline credentials.
 
He's a bastard. I was at the game Saturday. He was at the game. Did he come by to say hi? No. This is a pattern that goes way back. As a matter of fact, I was at the Rose Bowl, so was he. Same thing, no hello. Bastard.
