Gents: To make the world a better place

In order for this to work, there would have to be two separate waste systems. So, does the municipality spend mega bucks to change the way things work now or does each individual have a piss holding tank and flush the rest down the existing pipes? I understand the thought process, but don't see it being economically viable for established waste management situations.

Also, from looking at the pictures, I'm not sure why a guy would have to sit. It's all about aim. And I'm confused about female separation...of course I'm not a woman.

Yah seriously, if you can't hit that big of a target you should be sitting down. Instead of little holes though, they need to make it a bigger hole so there's less splash.

Morons never cease to amaze me, no matter the endeavor.

Step 1 for better sewage processing: force the airports to stop hoarding their toxic runoff, only to release in en masse whenever a storm overwhelms their (now concentrated) storage tanks. Those ******** do this in the hope that evaporation will relieve them of the responsibility of paying the city to get rid of their toxic waste, which never actually happens. Instead, the influx of deicer kills off all of the bacteria that nitrify the waste, thus throwing entire plants out of whack for weeks after a big storm.

I forgot: the current treatment systems involve anaerobic digestion for the 5% of waste that is rich in biosolids. Of this waste, the tiny (<1%) solid fraction is pressed out and contains nearly all of the phosphorus not present in the effluent mentioned above. This stuff is already used as fertilizer, and is the active part of the "Dillo Dirt" that Hornsby Bend gives away. The big farms around that plant are the agriculture research facilities where this is tried. It's possible to burn the pressed biosolids, and the resultant ash is 30-50% PO3, but generally that's not necessary for agriculture.

Oh...the whole idea is retarded in a different sense. Discharge ready effluent is 25ppm NO3-N and 4-5ppm PO3-P. That's too concentrated to use as the only source of irrigation, but it's great to mix with purer water. A lot of places are starting to do this, without any goofy toilets.

"Urinate in urinals and crap in toilets and then the urine and pooh-pooh are already separated!"

Only until you flush.

Excuse me, can we get back to the issue please? You all don't seem to understand how serious this is. Now who made dookie in the urinal?

smwhorn: Don't make me choose. I hate to give up one of the greatest natural advantages of being a male, especially in world where 20-25 percent of males seem to have no qualms about leaving pee all over the seat.
