Very interesting. It will be interesting to see if he can control his temper with this group. I cannot imagine the seasoned professionals putting up with the verbal abuse he has lavished upon some his UCONN players.
I think this is great!! Geno is a coach and like him or hate him he knows how to get the job done. I think his attitude will drastically change because it's a different ball game. At the college game, he's grooming and maturing his players to fit his mold for his game plan. At this level they're already groomed and his just fitting the pieces together to make an outstanding team. I think his attitude toward the senior team will be night and day compared to his college team. I'll say it first, once he gets the piecse together the US Senior Womans team will DOMINATE!!!
I had to say it because that's all we heard this year about the UCONN team. LOL!! And dominate they did.
I'm kinda of curious to find who he picks as his assisants or are those assigned by the committee? There should be enough former UConn players on the squad that the others shouldn't be surprised by his coaching philosphy or style. One has to admit that the coach knows how to win. And when the team is representing the USA, I want that team to win. Excellent selection, imo.
I really hope he does a fantastic job. Yikes, I never thought I would be forced to hope for success for Geno. I hope he brings home the gold and doesn't give me another reason to despise him.
I would not be at all surprised to see him make some choices of players who have not been considered in the past.
