Gary Johnson on Abortion

He's been consistent, of course. No pandering, unlike what we've seen from the President and the challenger:

1) Don't require insurers to provide birth control. (May 2012)

2) No federal funding for stem cell research. (Jan 2012)

3) Women's right to choose until fetal viability. (Jun 2011)

4) Right to choose up until viability of the fetus. (May 2011)

5) Leave the decision up to the woman. (Jan 2001)

I like Gary Johnson, but it's easy to be consistent, when you're not actually trying to win.

Of course he wants to win. And why does wanting to win mean you have to compromise your principles?

And I would say that if 10 years ago he wasnt specific about viability, but over the last few years he has made it a point to discuss it, give the man a break.

Deez. WTF? He had a campaign dinner event at Hills. He didnt have dinner one on one for shits and giggles.

It was a campaign event. Still think he wasnt trying hard enough?

What do you expect out of him? He doesnt have the millions that the other candidates have to promote themselves, and because he isnt a Pub or a Dem, he doesnt have one of the two giant heads there to support him either.

He is clearly doing everything he can to win, but its difficult when the MSM and the two headed party monster arent giving you any attention.

For you to try and argue that he isnt serious or isnt doing everything he can, is mystifying.

Hey 2003Ex - thanks to the interwebz, in the past 5 days, I know more about Hulk Hogans sex life than I do about Gary Johnson. If he's going to be a player, much less a factor in any political race, he needs to reevaluate his PR team

You can find whatever you want on the internet. The argument being presented here that Gary Johnson isnt truly serious, and that its easier to stick to your guns when you arent considered a "serious" candidate is complete hogwash.

what is the highest polling number for any given state for Gary Johnson? 1%? 2%? .025%

2003, I'm not arguing against what you're saying or for whom you chose to nominate. You're missing my point. If GJ is going to make a run, there's no excuse for the lack of recognition he has

2003,

He didn't say he was at a campaign event. He said he "had dinner with" Johnson. Sounds more like a shits and giggles function.

Nevertheless, if he was truly serious about winning, he wouldn't be wasting his time in Texas. He's being a sacrificial lamb in this race at this point. He also shouldn't have run as a Republican initially.

Third parties sold their soul to beat W in '04 with their ridiculous vote swapping for Kerry votes in the swing states.

Third party votes are wasted unless there is a situation like 1998 where a viable third party participant stands up.(even though Perot abdicated late in the race the damage was done)

All third party candidates can hope for is to siphon off votes from the major party they most closely resemble. (Nadar likely caused Gore the election for instance)

A vote for Gary Johnson is a vote for Obama.

Since we are talking about abortion, I find it absolutely hypocritical for Ryan (and other who think like him) to say that life begins at conception but they support abortion for certain exceptions. That just doesn't make sense to me. If you believe life begins at conception then you are saying it is okay to kill that baby in certain exceptions. Thoughts?
