GarageBand help

is there any way for me to play my piano at home and record it using GarageBand? can i get a microphone or is garageband only for instruments that can "connect" to my computer like a midi keyboard or whatever. how do i set this all up? i just got all of this so i'm gonna keep trying to figure it out myself, but i figured i'd ask yall in case someone here has been through it. thanks.

your mom sucks...what's the big deal? and i'm trying to record my brother, he's actually good.

anyway, i figured out how to get an instrument recorded, it wasn't very hard. however, is there a way to transcribe the music? because that would be awesome and in fact way more helpful. do i need to get logic for this or something better?

To record live audio in to Garageband, you need something like this. As far as transcribing live audio into notation, I don't think garageband will do that.

Just to do keys, get the M-Audio Keystation 49e. It is just under 100.00 and works fine.
