Garage Door Springs - Need Some New Ones

Anybody have any leads on a good/reputable company that can put in new garage door springs? Talking about the Sugar Land-ish area.

I've looked on line and the whole garage door spring fix doesn't appear to be a good diy'er project. I'm not into losing fingertips.

I've done it, but wouldn't recommend it unless you have the proper tools and skill. Can't help you with a local company. I'd just get quotes from some of the larger firms in your area. It's not that difficult for them and there's nothing cosmetic to worry about, so who does it isn't necessarily a big issue as long as it's something they routinely do.

If using a torsion bar spring I was advised to replace the one with two the next time it broke as makes opening the garage door easier for women.

Where are you located? I have a guy for the Austin area (Temple down to San Marcos & as far over as Burnet or Taylor) who does garage doors.

Send a PM if interested.

Sorry, haven't checked this in a while. I called the Over Head Door co. and they're coming out as soon as I clean up the garage a bit. I'm in the Houston area.

"they're coming out as soon as I clean up the garage a bit. "

Mine broke with the door down and two big motorcycles and a ton of other **** right up next to the door. The technician was pissed.

Yeah, I've got nothin' for Houston.

For those in the Central Texas area, my guy will easily beat ODC's prices & work with you on the stuff jamming your garage door (i.e. help you move some **** outta the way).
