Gap security tag...

Ok, No, I didn't shoplift this pair of khakis. The idoit at Gap decided to not take the tag off, though. The little plastic security tag thingy. I wanted to wear this pair of khakis to work today but realized that they left the damn thing on. I got 2 pairs of khakis that day, and I've worn the other pair many times, but just got around to wearing this pair. And there's a damn security tag on.

Does anyone know if these tags have ink in them, like if I were to just rip it off? Or will I have to go back to the damn Gap and ask them to take the tag off that they should've taken off in the first place? I'm afraid to just rip the thing apart, don't want to have a big ol' ink stain on the pants and try to return them looking like a theif.

I cut one off of a dress for my wife when she didn't have time to go back to the mall. Before I did, I went online and googled ink security tags and found a picture of the one I was cutting off. It was inkless, so I took some wirecutters/metal shears and went to work.

If you have the time just take it back to the store. Much easier.

Just get a hacksaw and cut the pin. Even if it does have ink in it it should only be released if you forcibly take the security tag off.

the round ones usually have ink. the ones that look like rectangles about the size of a shoe horn usually don't have ink.

i work at sears for the summer and we regularly have people come back with ink tags on their clothing that the assosiates forgot to take off. the ones at sears have ink in them. it's no big deal as we usually just take the tag off and they're are on their way.

obviously, it doesnt trigger any sort of alarm when you take it out of the store.

just take it in a gap bag when you're returning it though.
