Gameday

So I was supposed to be going to a wedding this weekend in Houston, but because of Ike, it was postponed.

Consequently, I'll be going to the Rice game with family. We don't have a hotel or tickets yet. Tickets shouldn't be hard to come by, but do you guys have any suggestions for hotels that won't already be full?

Thanks for any help.

not trying to be an *** but priceline, orbitz, and travelocity all show open hotel rooms.

As for tickets, look on the "swap meet" forum on the left side of your screen.

Does anybody know how I can find out what time the game starts?

Thanks for those of you who genuinely tried help out. And there's no need to poke fun. It was just a request for suggestions on hotels. I lived in Austin for 5 years and never had to stay in a hotel so I don't know which are best (other than the Driskill and Stephen F. Austin, where I worked part time as a student, but I cannot afford either and I'm sure they're booked) and I thought y'all might. I'm not an idiot.

That being said, I am legally blind and deaf. It takes a great deal of time, concentration and luck to even type these out.

I'm gonna go on my lunch break, eat a sammich, drink a beer and hope the guilty parties think about what they've done.

Embassy Suites on Congress and Barton Springs is cool. Driskill is pricey, but very nice. Courtyard Gardens, I think, downtown, is nice. I have a friend who works for Sheraton/Four Points/Westin/W that could possibly get you a hook up.... if you need one. PM me if you need. As for tickets.... LOTS on the Swap Meet to the left and scalpers tailgating is your best bet!

Hope this helps!
