That's no excuse. What's the humidity like? How are the hot dogs? Any fish flopping in the outfield like the 2015 regional? :smile1:
 
Par for us...to dumb it up...Had the 3rd out and stupidly dives at the baserunner and misses.and results in three more runs.....Lets hope this is the end for Augie. We need smarter play.
 
How come we get ahead of OSU every game and then lose due to big innings late? Every darn time.

Didn't realize Augie was playing catcher tonight, car54.......firstly, Tres touched the runner for the 3rd out...so, it should have been 3-3 and the end of the inning. Secondly, however, Tres made it look a little questionable when he overran the runner. But the runner gave up on the rundown....that means he knew he had been tagged out. Then he saw the home plate umpire giving the safe sign, so he, then, decided to run to home plate.
Sadly, this team is just snake-bit.
 
Because we have no bullpen?.........Every time Skip skips out to the mound, bad things happen.

Agree with this. I'm a fan of Skip and what he's done for us the past few years, I'm with NB on that. However, I think his handling of the staff this year with respect to the bullpen has been far less than desirable, and his handling of Duke has been abysmal. Skip is far too caught up in the Lefty/Lefty, Righty/Righty matchups. There was no reason whatsoever to pull Duke after that out, he was hot, he had his stuff and he knew it. Skip has done this repeatedly this year, especially with Duke, only to watch Shugart get to throw to 5 or 6 batters with no regard to R/R, L/L and give up several runs doing so.

And Car the runner was also outside the baseline, that is an out based on rule. I'm remembering back to the OSU football game officiating now, what is it with OSU and ****** officiating.
 
Which one of you guys helped Skip sneak into the oSu dugout?

Must be his superior handling of pitching and Augie's exceptional coaching that caused the oSu pitching staff to look like Murchison Middle School.
 
Augie gave the team a salty talk about not giving up before this inning's at-bat. Let's just ignore the past couple of seasons for the moment and appreciate the fact that Augie is giving the team, and us, a life lesson here.
 
Can't believe they stranded a guy on third base to end the inning. \sarc

I would agree that we should enjoy the comeback victory, which we have seen all too few of the last five years.

As for Augie's "salty talk", it must have been really loud to cause the oSu pitching staff to issue all the walks, the hit batter with the bases loaded, the wild pitch allowing another run. Their all conference second baseman drops an easy force at second? Yes, Tres had a timely hit, and young Mr Clemens triple was huge. Perhaps his talk kept the team from giving up or mailing in the game, but the total collapse by the Cowboys had little to do with Augie.
 
If Texas beats TCU twice tomorrow, Augie can keep his job.
