Game One

NU v. UT game one to start in 40 minutes. Just thought I'd get it rolling. I'm pulling double duty watching madness and doing these updates tonight so I'll do the best I can. From this side of the fence obviously I see this as an important series for us. We had a tough start playing a couple tough west coast teams and Rice. I'll be interested to see how well NU competes in this series.

NU got a run in the first, Texas goes up and down in the bottom. After 1, NU leads 1-0. Casey Hauptman is the pitcher for NU tonight, BTW. He'd been in middile relief for much of the early parts of the year but has been our best pitcher so far.

Cody Asche starts the second for NU with a double. 2nd, no one out. Tyler Farst moves him to third now, 3rd with one out.

Jungmann gets out of it with a groundout and a strikeout. 1.5, 1-0 NU.

UT got three singles in the second to tie it. After 2, 1-1.

I have a feeling this team is going to pick us up....ever since Colt went down its been dismal at best for the Horns...but maybe this is the beginning of a great stretch.

This Texas baseball team is better than they have been playing, I see the potential for Omaha but the overall play must improve. Saturdays weather is not looking great, it will be a cold day for baseball Saturday. Great win for Horns, tough loss for Nebraska.

It still amazes me how many fans keep leaving in the 8th and 9th innings when we're behind. After sitting through the entire Boston College game last year I never leave early. Plenty of high fives in the stands tonight!

Tough loss HNK, but beisbol isn't football and the Huskers have broken Texas' hearts plenty of times in this game over the past 12 years.

One thing's for sure though, when these two teams meet on the diamond OR the gridiron, everything is left out on the field.
