Loved the connections to events that happened in Season 1.
"Something wrong with your leg, boy? Can you walk? Have I got to carry you? Fine little blade. Maybe I'll pick my teeth with it." Fictional homicide is rarely such fun.
That scene with Cersei and Jamie and with the dead King Joffrey was disturbing. I was just sort of rooting for his character turn around last season when he was a prisoner and running around with Brienne of Tarth but after this latest scene NOPE he's still a sleazy slime ball. lol
They also knocked down the developing "buddy movie" story of Arya and The Hound when they showed his cold blooded robbery of the farmer. It's a mean world.
Do we really now who killed Joffrey? I think the evidence points to Olenna Tyrell working with Littlefinger. I think her motivations are pretty obvious. Alliance with the Lannisters is a lot more palatable with stupid, cruel and arrogant Joffrey out of the way. Littlefinger has an angle to get money and power. Not sure I trust him as caretaker to Sansa ... but I guess being safe and being a Stark don't go together.
I remember last season they separated and he went somewhere with the pretty wildling. I thought they were headed for Castle Black, but it's been a year since I watched the episode, so I may be misremembering I don't think the younger Stark has been shown in any episodes this year.
. Come to think of it they should have arrived by now.
Littlefinger is now a scary and important figure in this. Not expecting him to be infinitely patient with his bizarre new wife. Tough guy stepdad is probably going to wean Robin and tell Lyssa to get some therapy.
I started watching GoT this summer for the first time and caught up a few weeks ago. This is an amazing show! I'm a huge Walking Dead fan, but I'd say GoT is better written, and obviously with the hour time limit, and multiple stories going at once, it seems much more engaging. My bf got me the books for Christmas, so I'll be reading those soon. Can't wait for season 5 to start up! I'd say my favorite characters are:
1. Tyrion- he became my sole favorite in season 4. I CRIED during his trial speech scene.
2. Arya- I want so badly for her to find some sort of happiness and peace. I love her attitude, even if she is naive.
3. Jon Snow- don't judge me! He's good people, and we need more of those. He is more like his father (I believe) than Robb.
4. Sansa- she started out a dumb teenager, but quickly learned her lesson in the harshest of ways. I still feel like she's pretty weak, but I'm rooting for her. I don't know what to make of how season 4 ended for her, but I REALLY hope she's tricking Petyr in some way.
5. Daenerys- she was a top contender, but lately I'm not feeling it as much. Towards the end of season 4 we saw her dealing with more struggles for once, but I just feel like things have been to easy for her thus far. She needs a flaw or one hell of a conflict.
Honorable mentions include: Sam, Ned Stark, The Hound, Sir Davos, Jorah (ouch...)
You have named some great characters. Tywin Lannister has certainly been an interesting and well-portrayed character. I'll miss him, though I gotta say having a man who is the very picture of dignity get murdered on the privy by his dwarf son ... the greatness that is the GOT.
