specifically 2nd half....

Why does Barnes not start Hamilton and keep his hot hand in the game....16 points in 1st vs 3 in 2nd

Why play Lucas? He appeared lost on off / def...

Very limited time for Brown until 2nd half then he explodes....

Just no consistency in line-up from start to end...

24 hours later and you can still fry an egg on the back of my neck.

If J'Covan just runs away from the defense instead of getting whistled for a charge with 1:20 left in OT, it would have taken a Houston Oiler/Buffalo Bill collapse to lose that game. They would have either had to foul him or we could have taken the clock down to 54 seconds before we had to shoot it. I realize J'Covan isn't a prototypical PG, but if he is going to play one he has to know to let the D come to you in that situation.

I have been bitching about his rotation from day one. It makes no sense at all. Barnes is a decent "keep the intensity up", "defend and rebound" guy but that is about it. He doesn't have the tools to be a tier 1 coach. Talent has and will take him places but he can't "coach" an average team to go above and beyond their talent (see Izzo and numerous other coaches).

Even on defense, he isn't capable of really executing the schemes he has borrowed. His love of the 2-3 started the year Syracuse won the title (and beat us) but he has never really recruited for that kind of play. I saw Syracuse last night and the way they play the 2-3 is a thing of beauty; it really is amazing to watch their games. The way they move without the ball and suffocate their opponents. Our version of the 2-3 in an abortion. We don't really know how to execute it.

It is also concerning that players like Hill and Chapman haven't developed at all. Aside from getting players into shape, Barnes hasn't developed with consistency at all. We have the length to run a suffocating 2-3 but the arrangement of players we need to do it is not a possibility due to Barnes' insanity when it comes to subbing.
