for today's WOMEN's game vs ND???? WTF, are the men's games across the country so bad today that they have to resort going for a girl's game??

Surprised they didn't do Syracuse #5 at WVU #9, especially since that game's on ESPN too.

If you want to put on a women's game, going up against a NFL playoff game is the night to do it.

What was weird was how packed the gym was for gameday - for a girls game. That may be the only school in the country that gets support like that for women's bball.

I don't really follow women's basketball much outside the B12 but isn't UConn women's bball one of the most storied women's bball teams? If so, you'll always have more bandwagon fans when you have success; doubly so when you're having consistent success. It also doesn't hurt that UConn men's bball is doing pretty good to reinforce that "basketball" school feel vaulting it to the #1 priority to fans. That's all I think this is.

Honestly, if it was any other team but UConn, ESPN wouldn't have been within sniffing distance of that game. They consider them the "home team" and always give them lots of play.
