Since no one seems to be doing updates:

3-0 aggy top 7. No bats for the Horns today with just two hits in six innings.

Cole Green went 4 2/3 giving up 3 runs on 5 hits including a HR. All 3 runs earned. Workman in.

Pop out to SS ends the inning. Stretch time and Horns trail 3-0. Need to get the bats going and score some runs.

Torres leads off bottom of seventh with strike out. Aggy pitcher has faced 21 batters and retired 19 with 5 K's. Thought their ace was last night.

This aggy pitcher Hales is just dominant today.

Keyes grounds out to second baseman, thats 21 of 23 batters and seven innings of 2 hit ball.

Top 8: Workman K's first two aggy and then gets ground out to short stop, heading to bottom of 8 3-0 aggy. Running out of time to wake up the bats. Come on offense show something.

Loy strikes out but reaches on a third strike wild pitch.

Unable to stand prosperity today, Shepherd (not blaming him individually since the whole team hasnt been able to build on anything) follows with a ground out into a double play. This is just not Texas' day. To the ninth 3-0 aggy.

Horns are wasting a great effort by Workman in relief he has gone 3 1/3 with 4 ks and no runs.

Fly out to right and than walk on four pitches. Brandon's third walk to go with 5 Ks, Carrillo in to pitch.

Kendal Carrillo picks off runner. To the bootm of ninth, last chance for Horns to get any offense today. Rally caps on all around.

Down to our last three outs. Hope the ump's strike zone stays as small as it was in the top half of the inning.

Incidentally, the score should be 4-0. Last night's play at the plate might be in doubt, but today's call at third (same ump, if you can believe that) was pure ineptness.

Bottom Nine:

Connor Rowe leads off with another third strike wild pitch but gets thrown out at first. Thats 9 ks for Hales.

Lusson pinch hit for Belt reaches on fielders choice, runner out at second. Down to last out.

Torres flies out to left and thats the ball game 3-0.

Somedays you just have to tip your cap to the opposing pitcher. Hales was dominant today going the complete game giving up only three hits and never really facing any kind of sustained threat that Texas would even score a run. Kid was just too much and our bats never showed up. Better wake up tomorrow and take the series.

Ballgame.

Hats off to the aggy pitcher for having good command of three or four pitches today, but also brickbats to our batters for some of their worst at-bats of the year. They couldn't lay off the junk down and out of the zone.

On an unrelated rant, I really wish umps wouldn't grant major-league double-play outs. You know the ones I'm talking about--ruling the baserunner out at second even if the fielder's foot comes off the bag before he catches the ball.

The eighth-inning double play sure came close. But it was the attempted double play in the ninth that drew this rant--I watched in slow mo' and the second baseman's foot clearly came off the bag before the ball found his glove. But ump awards the out, anyway.

What a pitching performance by the Ag frosh. Total command. On the other hand, why a coach with 1700+ wins does not have his hitters adjust in ANY way to a breaking pitch that was at their ankles all day as they whiffed over and over is beyond me.

Stevo...some of it had to do with the ump's adjustable strike zone. In the last half of the game he was calling the low outside a strike where he wasn't early on. This caused confusion among the batters.
