Galveston Hotels

Not looking for a super expensive resort, but not wanting to go the "motel 6" route either. Any suggestions? Maybe some of the "not so known" places that aren't scary where I won't need to wear shoes in the shower and fumigate the bed???

Oh yeah.... this is just for one night in April.

We stayed at Hotel Galvez last summer and enjoyed it quite a bit. I can't remember exactly how much we paid, but it was ~ $200/night.

It's a big nice hotel with a decent pool and a good restaurant, and it faces the beach, although you have to cross the main seawall thoroughfare.

I stayed at the Galvez for a little less than a hundred bucks last summer through priceline. And we got upgraded because our room was not ready in time. Had a good time there, the pool area is nice, and the rooms were a good size.
