Technology is on the verge of making real news and fake news indistinguishable. It will also allow those caught red-handed (i.e. Grab 'em by the *****) to claim fake news because it's becoming plausible.
Radiolab did an episode this week that outlined technology that is making it possible to literally fake language with software like Adobe Voco and Google has video editing software in prototype that can recreate the exact facial expressions to mirror the fake language.
