Furniture in NYC?

Gotta furnish an apartment - planning on getting bed/coffee tables/etc. from Ikea, but need some ideas for couches and recliners, or if there are better places to get beds and coffee tables please help!


We want decent quality, but don't want to spend too much... leather most likely for the couch/chairs....


Ajax? Midtown? Horninyc? Anyone else?

I hate posts like this. go check out this thing they call "the Sunday Paper" in it you will find advertisements for furniture stores, go visit them.

I'd suggest that you visit ABC and that stretch of Madison Ave in the 30's but you said your were going cheap.

I'm a lot more comfortable knowing that someone has had a good experience at a furniture store before I go there.

Plus it saves me the time of going to 14 of them trying to figure out which one is best. I'll take a HF recommendation and make a purchase...

Yeah Mad in the 30's isn't gonna be in my price range i think... we don't need $6000 couches...

My apt is furnished entirely with IKEA and stuff from the street, mostly stuff from the street. Some of the street stuff is pretty quality, the IKEA things are total junk.

If you want a decent leather couch and don't want to pay a lot, Craig's List is probably your best bet. The hard part is getting the thing to your apt.
