Fungicide

I have mold on my mandevilla from all the rain we've had lately in Houston. I thought for sure it would dry out and go away by now, but it persists.

What is a good fungicide? Anyone have experience killing mold on plants? And where do I get it? Wal-Mart or somewhere? A plant store?

I've also heard baking soda can work. Any ideas on that?

Check with Home Depot. They should have several brands, many of which work different ways. Some of them you apply directly to the plant, while others are systemic, meaning you put it on the ground and it is absorbed into the plant. I've used both kinds for my lawn and on crape myrtles and rose bushes.

Do NOT go to Home Depot or Loews to ask what you should do? Those people are clueless Home Depot employees that more likely would rather be working inside in the air conditioner. Go to "Teas Nursery" on Bellaire or one of many "Cornelius Nursery" around Houston. Somewhere where individuals with some agricultural history, experience, background and/or education behind them. They might be aggys but they're good for something.

Do not put any amount of baking soda on mandevilla. Even a teaspoon diluted in a liter of water.

i use cornmeal to treat fungus in my lawn and it seems to work well. I had a patch that was turning yellow despite plenty of water and the cornmeal cleared that up.

not sure it would work on all types of plants though.
