Fundamental problem with this team...

Sam was certainly a great leader and representative of our school, but even in Middle School no one had to tell me or motivate me to go play my a&% of.

Heacock spent a lot of time in Youngstown, which to me says if he was worth a ****, Stoops would have had him in Norman, at at worst Pelini would have hired him.

I hear Iowa State's defense is ranked #5
Can we get that coach?
Didn't look so hot vs wvu..38
And Baylor scored same vs us as vs isu... 31...Not sure if ISUs offense put their own D in as poor of a position as ours did either, so..

All our D needs to do to be top tier is
A. Get better pressure
B. Stiffen against run

I believe the secondary is actually quite good

Well i looked it up.
After 8 games:
Iowa state #5
Oklahoma state #7
Baylor #34
Texas you don't want to know
I'm well aware of where Texas ranks, hence my sarcastic post. I'm just sick of reading and hearing all the excuses here as well as other message, sports information sites, etc. The same excuses from the sunshine pumpers has been going on for 10+ years now, yet other B12 teams are proving them wrong.

I certainly watch a lot of football other than Texas and I see plenty of other teams from other conferences running similar or even more wide open offenses than what I see in the B12. Again, just more excuses. We finally had a DC that was turning the corner last year, but Sark decided he had someone better. Yes, it may change, but but I've seen some things that would baffle a HS coach.

A nuance of the game tomorrow that isn’t getting any play is the frequently that Casey pulls the ball down and runs rather than try to force a throw.

Even with the very real defensive issues and poor OL play, and even with the drops last Saturday, had CT pulled the ball down and run about 5 more times — when it was obvious that he had the space to do so — I have to wonder if perhaps we would have won the game.

He doesn’t have to be Lamar Jackson, but he needs to take advantage of what the defense is giving him. Doing so also opens up more lanes for Bijan. His inability recently to run (or lack of recognition) when it was there for him has been consequential. And remember, with the slide rule, the risk associated with running isn’t what it used to be.

If he runs a half dozen times or more tomorrow night I think we just might win.

Just saw a clip of Fickel saying the team loves the community and loves the University. Made me go Hmmmm.

On that last drive against Baylor, I was screaming “run, run” at the screen. It was wide open. Instead CT threw a 50 yard bomb, which could have been caught, but wasn’t. As DKR said, when you pass… We needed first downs at that point.

A good oline and a good Dline, both with some depth...............and this is a different team.
Correct. Likely a 1 loss team and a much happier message board :D. Honestly even a good O-line that allowed us to keep running and protect CT might have done the trick
