I am for giving any coach at least three years so I do not agree with FSU's decision. That said, I get it. Getting easily defeated by a bad Manny Diaz led Miami means the writing is on the wall. It is similar to, though not as, bad as Charlie Strong's 0-24 loss to 3-9 Iowa State team that fired their coach. After a really bad year two loss like those, you know the program is not going anywhere until there is a new coach.

The best comparison to Texas as a program lately is Florida. Getting better, but not quite “back” yet. Florida St is a **** show. Hopefully A&M under Jimbo falls that far. Has only been 1.5 years. He needs more time!

I cant help but think of that clause in the Jimbo-aggy contract where they say he can leave, with all the money, but aggy would be really sad if he did. You dont often see contract language like that.

Anything after "he can leave with all of the money" is to give aggy AD and President an out and to assuage BMD's when they are pressed to come up with another $100M to hire the next big name aggy coach.

For starters, this. Diaz has never been anywhere long enough to develop or watch an entire recruiting class go through. Now he's been entrusted to build a program. Diaz is a showman and a fraud who won't be at Miami long enough to graduate a class there either. No self respecting team should lose to this guy


I was surprised to see Taggart get the axe at this juncture; makes the Houston Cougars look almost patient. They sure came up with a pile of money in a hurry.
Maybe Free Shoes University is trying to secure position to make a run at one of the morally bankrupt coaches who may be on the market for next season. There's already one Briles in Tallahassee too.
