From out of town?

Friends and I are meeting in Austin in a few weeks and are looking to hit the town. We are all 35ish.....any clubs we should try??????

I'm no expert on clubs in town, but try the bars on W. 4th Street in the warehouse district. More of an adult (as opposed to college) crowd.

Strip clubs are ALWAYS an option! Just trying to get the lastest run-down the options we will be looking at. Wouldn't mind finding a place to watch some basketball for a while.

What Grinder said--4th Street is the area to hit. If you go to Sixth Street, you'll feel like you're crashing a high school kegger. You can go to Lavaca Street Bar or Fox and Hound if you want to check out some hoops, and then enjoy the talent around Fourth and Colorado!

after you watch the game at Fox and Hound, go to Speakeasy and Cedar Street. Both have dancing and both cater to an older (over 25, under 40) crowd. Ludwig's is a cool new bar across from Cedar St. It does get crowded, and the crowd is typically under 30. Good eye candy, however. Fado is next to Cedar St and is a good place for some beer. Malaga and Saba, either side of Cedar St, also cater to a 25+ crowd and are solid bars.

If you're looking for a salsa/latin dancing crowd, hit Miguel's. Place plays great music and has a great looking crowd (25-40).

Essentially stay in the 4th st area and you'll be fine.

If you're really looking to cheese out, go to Element or Polly Esther's. Both are late night dance clubs that make my skin crawl.

Esther's Follies is a brilliant almost Vaudeville type of show on 6th.

also Cuba Libre is nice, just get there a little early, or bribe the door guy. And Brown Bar is nice

Brown Bar is on 8th and Colorado and CL is between 4th and 5th on Colorado.

"Chi-chi. Sunglasses, shiny shirts, spiky hair..the works. Younger crowd. Interesting people watching. Trendy crowd will love this place. Also a good restaurant downstairs."

ok.....great help guys!!! Thinking 4th st. is looking good for awhile......I'm afraid that later though we are gonna have to inspect Austins finer gentlemans clubs!!!! Damn its gonna be rough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

for all-nude go to Showpalace.

no matter what anybody says, the Rose and Sugar's are about the same in terms of quality. Decent to good-looking girls, standard strip club fair.

Penthouse Men's Club up north is about the same as the above, but further away from town.

If you're looking for not-so-hot-but-friendly, go to XTC, which is also all-nude.

and if you've got an extra 6 hours available, go to Treasure's in Houston
