From aggy coach Childress...

"That call in the first inning didn't cost us the game, and didn't cost us a run. We had our opportunity with two outs to get out of that inning and we didn't do that. Thebeau and Willy did as good as they could possibly do on the mound, and gave us a chance to get back in it. In the third, fifth and seventh innings we had our opportunities to break it open, and we didn't come away with the big inning. It's a disappointing loss. I felt like we played well enough to win after the first inning, and sometimes when you're great on the mound, one inning is all it takes and the game's over. Texas proved that today."

Take a cue from your coach, aggy, and move along. You're just like the Cub fans who blame Bartman for blowing the '03 NLCS and completely ignoring the Gonzales boot at SS.

Wow, Childress is entirely too rational for College Station. He can't go around saying things like that, he actually made sense. They must hate him over there.

Childress actually has respect for the game of baseball, unlike their fans. They're too busy losing with "dignity and class" to understand simple things like Childress is talking about ... if you take advantage of your opportunities and execute like you are supposed to, perceived "bad officiating" can be overcome.

Bassale, that's incorrect. Once a bad call is made, everything after that is null and void. See below:

-Vince's knee was down, so we wouldn't have scored on that drive.

-If the correct call is made Friday, aggy takes the lead and there's no way we would have come back in T9.

-If the correct call is made yesterday, aggy shuts us out again, 4-0.

It's great logic if you think about it....you can change the course of history to your liking, which fits perfectly for them.

What call in the first inning? I was listening to it on the radio and I do not recall Craig Way mentioning a blown call.

He knows his short stop made a bad throw on a very routine double play.

He wants to teach his player, the fans want to crucify anything but an Aggie.

An aggy coach I can like...imagine that! Childress is way too rational to have much of a future over there. I could see Nebraska bringing him back at some point as head coach, or perhaps he might take over a real college baseball powerhouse like Rice if Wayne Graham ever retires.

They will blame any loss they sustain at Norman next weekend on this umpire. Just wait and see. It will look something like, "Well, if that sip umpire yeast infection didn't blow all those calls, our aggies would be playing much better. Sips paid them off and it looks like we never be able to win anything while the sips control the NCAA."

Meanwhile our main rival is giving cars out to recruits, giving roid-rage alcoholics medical redshirts, and helping recruits that haven't even stepped foot on campus legal help to plea bargain from 4 felonies ranging from kidnapping, assault with a weapon and domestic abuse to misdemeanors. All of this happening and we get screwed out of a chance to play for the NC.

If we are such an evil empire that had our hands in everyone's pockets, especially umpires, why is it that... oh forget it... I give up. They aren't ever going to be rational. At least their head coach is.

There was a thread on Texags saying something along the lines of, "If you saw this umpire out on a dirt road, what would you do?" Many of the responses indicated Texas evil doings - that his new BMW wouldn't break down because it was just paid for by UT officials or stuff like that. Ridiculous.

Even when you look at the stills from the play at first base from game 3, you can't tell the 1b had a foot on for certain. These umps don't have replay abilities, but even if they did, it would still be a tough call.

It was right in front of me, and I think he might have sold it if he'd just kept his foot still. But he danced his foot all around the bag, and even if he had his foot on the bag while in possession of the ball, the umpire sure couldn't tell it.

Me, personally ... I thought he was out of sync and didn't get the foot down until after our hitter reached.

My seats are dead even with 1st base. I completely agree with Texanne. It is clear that the 1st baseman thought he didn't have it.

Looking at it live I thought they blew the call, but later watching the replay at home using the much loved TIVO, i really believe they got the call correct.
